Fall in the Great Smoky Mountains and on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a sight to behold. Rolling mountains that dance as the light moves across the sky. Colors that seem to go on forever.
This workshop is not only an opportunity to photograph the drama and beauty of our wondrous planet, but also to join a group of fun-loving, passionate photographers on a shared mission of creating iconic, magical, impactful images.
And on this adventure, we'll be traveling in camper vans, so we can spend less time traveling to and from hotels, and more time at photo locations off the beaten path!
You'll be personally guided in a small group so you can progress as a photographer and artist and ignite - or re-ignite - your sense of wonder. This is your invitation to improve your skills in an epic location and bring home photographic art you are proud to hang on your wall.
This is more than a photo tour. It's a creative awakening.
A $750 USD deposit is required to reserve your spot for this workshop.
You can pay in full at any time. The remaining balance is due August 18, 2026. (60 days before the start of the workshop).

"All the best locations"
"An incredible experience. Greg is an excellent photographer and coach, and knows all the best locations. Don't think twice, book now! "
- Steve C.

The night sky sessions are always a hit at our workshops! Here's your opportunity to learn new techniques and create awe inspiring images in some dynamic locations.
And while we cannot fly in the National Park, if you have a drone, we'll take you to some viewpoints most tourists miss!

"The best you could hope for"
"Working alongside Greg at a workshop is literally the best you could hope for. His patience and overall knowledge are second to none. I look forward to working with Greg on future shoots. "
- Sarah G.

We recommend you fly into Asheville, North Carolina if possible. Our route will begin and end near there.
Asheville Regional Airport (AVL)
There are also some nearby International airports that may be less expensive:
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT): 2.5-hour drive
Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP): 1.25-hour drive
We'll be driving to each location in camper vans, parking at campgrounds each night. If you don't have a camper van, you'll need to rent one. Camper van rental is not included. We can recommend some quality rental sources.
There is limited parking at a couple of our planned shoot locations, so we will need to carpool for those.

"Supportive learning environment"
"Greg creates a supportive learning environment and genuinely wants his students to succeed. I highly recommend any class he teaches"
- Luanne G.

We'll be sleeping in our camper vans! All campground site fees are included.
Meals are not included, except for dinner on our last night.
There aren’t many nearby restaurants that will be open when we are finished shooting, so we'll pick up supplies to cook at our campsite.
All passes to enter the parks are included.

A complete list of everything that we recommend for this workshop will be sent to all participants after sign-up. Here are the primary things you might need:
A mirrorless or DSLR camera
A sturdy tripod
A wide-angle lens, such as 16-35mm
A medium zoom lens, such as 24-70mm
A camera bag to carry your gear
A headlamp for the night shoots
A laptop for the post-processing sessions
A fast prime lens for night shoots, such as a 14mm f1.8
A telephoto lens, such as 70-200mm
A remote shutter, if your camera does not have a self timer
An external SSD, for backing up your photos
Even though the sun can make it warm during the day, nights can be very chilly in the fall.
So, we recommend bringing the following clothing:
Several layers (base layer, mid-layer, windproof layer)
A good pair of hiking shoes to protect your feet and ankles while hiking over rocks and uneven terrain
A hat and gloves for the night photography sessions in case it gets cold

"A lot of Individual Attention"
"Because it was a small group, we knew we'd get a lot of individual attention. Both Greg and Lynda are very hands on and wanted to make sure we got wonderful photos... and we did!"
- Mary M.

Greg is an award-winning film director, photographer and mentor with more than four decades of experience to share. Greg believes that truly remarkable images are born from deeply immersive experiences. With a filmmaker’s eye for storytelling and years of international travel under his belt, he leads photography retreats that inspire creativity, foster community, and help photographers create breathtaking images that tell a story, evoke emotion, and leave a lasting impact.

Lynda is an award-winning commercial photographer and devoted university educator with more than two decades of guiding others with artistry, warmth, and genuine care. Her advertising, landscape, wildlife, and drone photography has touched audiences around the world, but her deepest joy lives in the workshop. There, she creates a welcoming, uplifting space where students are treated like family and encouraged to grow with confidence. Guided by the belief that every person holds a story that comes alive through the lens, Lynda ensures students leave with refined skills, renewed inspiration, and a mentor who continues cheering them on long after the class has ended.

"Create images that are timeless and powerful"
"Lynda’s years of experience show in every moment, from her thoughtful guidance to her instinctive understanding of light, angles, emotion and skill. Her passion and knowledge help you create images that are timeless and powerful."
- Phaedra W.

Whether you are experienced or just starting out with photography, you are welcome! Together, we'll ensure you get the support you need to progress in your skills, expand your portfolio, and make the most of this experience.
All locations are a short and easy walk.
Most of the terrain is flat, but for some locations, we’ll do some minimal walking over small hills or stepping over rocks.
You should be able to carry your gear up a few flights of stairs on your own. If that is going to be a challenge, this might not be the best next workshop for you.
All ages are welcome, as long as you have a desire to learn and grow! I've helped photographers from age 18 to 80 improve their skills and create images they are proud of.
Yes! Non-photographer companions are welcome to join us on the workshop, but they need to book a spot under the same price and conditions as any other participant. As long as they enjoy nature, beautiful landscapes, and can be patient with the schedules of a photo group, the workshop can be a great experience to share.
Bringing a drone is optional, but not required. Remember that drones are NOT allowed in national parks.
But we will be going to a few locations where we are allowed to fly, and a drone can provide a unique perspective.
