You will need to arrange your own transportation to Goulding’s Lodge and to the shooting locations outside of Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.
We will help coordinate carpools when traveling from the hotel to our shooting locations (10-30 minute drives).
We'll also help organize rental car sharing prior to the workshop in case other participants are interested in renting a car at a specific airport.
Note: The road to Monument Valley is paved, but the road within the park is a dirt road, so we recommend a 4WD SUV.

Accommodations are included in a shared double room with queen beds at Goulding’s Lodge for 3 nights and a shared tent during the overnight tour in Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.
Single rooms and tents may be available (they are VERY limited) and if so, incur an additional $800. While not guaranteed, we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Meals are not included, except for dinner and breakfast on our overnight camp.
Monument Valley is a remote area and there aren’t many restaurants, but Goulding’s Lodge has a restaurant and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We also recommend buying groceries in a major city before you arrive in Monument Valley so you can stock up on food, drinks, and snacks for the next few days. Our mealtimes will vary depending on the shooting conditions, so we recommend having something to eat in case the restaurant is closed.
All passes to enter the parks are included.

A complete list of everything that we recommend for this workshop will be sent to all participants after sign-up. Here are the primary things you might need:
A mirrorless or DSLR camera
A sturdy tripod
A wide-angle lens, such as 16-35mm
A medium zoom lens, such as 24-70mm
A camera bag to carry your gear
A headlamp for the night shoots
A laptop for the post-processing sessions
A fast prime lens for night shoots, such as a 14mm f1.8
A telephoto lens, such as 70-200mm
A remote shutter, if your camera does not have a self timer
An external SSD, for backing up your photos
Even though the sun can make it warm during the day, nights can be very chilly in Monument Valley.
So, we recommend bringing the following clothing:
Several layers (base layer, mid-layer, windproof layer)
A good pair of hiking shoes to protect your feet and ankles while hiking over rocks and uneven terrain
A hat and gloves for the night photography sessions in case it gets cold

Whether you are experienced or just starting out with photography, you are welcome! Together, we'll ensure you get the support you need to progress in your skills, expand your portfolio, and make the most of this experience, .
All locations are a short and easy walk.
Most of the terrain is flat, but for some locations, we’ll do some minimal walking over small hills or stepping over rocks.
You should be able to carry your gear up a few flights of stairs on your own. If that is going to be a challenge, this might not be the best next workshop for you.
All ages are welcome, as long as you have a desire to learn and grow! I've helped photographers from age 18 to 80 improve their skills and create images they are proud of.
Yes! Non-photographer companions are welcome to join us on the workshop, but they need to book a spot under the same price and conditions as any other participant. As long as they enjoy nature, beautiful landscapes, and can be patient with the schedules of a photo group, the workshop can be a great experience to share.
Bringing a drone is optional, but not required. Remember that drones are NOT allowed in national parks and you can’t fly your drone in most of Monument Valley.
Bringing your drone on this photo tour is at your own risk.
